It's time to bring Silicon Valley level
tech education to Silicon Prairie

Seriously. Only 20 schools in IA offered the AP Computer Science course last year, less than any other STEM subject.
Of the 169 Iowans who took the exam, only 14% were female.

We’re building a pipeline of future female software engineers, right here in Iowa.

What is Iowa Girls Code?

Iowa Girls Code is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to teaching middle and high school girls (grades 9-12) about app and website development and how to explore a career in Computer Science. We pair teams of 5-10 girls with mentors from our partner companies.
After the initial Fall Kick-Off event, teams will design and implement a project together. Meeting at least twice a month, Iowa Girls Code is an entry level, low time-commitment way to be introduced to coding in a supportive environment.
On March 5th, 2017, teams will return to the Iowa Girls Code Spring Summit to present their project for the chance to win prizes!
